TRC's Adoption Information

TRC dogs undergo thorough temperament evaluations and live in foster families prior to adoption.  We want the best for our dogs and their forever families.

TRC uses a common-sense approach to adoption and places dogs in the north east United States. If you are not in this area, please visit a rescue group that is closer to you. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from TRC. You must demonstrate responsible pet ownership, including spay/neuter of current family pets. You must have previous large breed ownership experience. Rottweiler adoptors are required to provide proof of homeowners insurance with a rottweiler on the premises.

The Rottie Connection is under no obligation to process any adoption application and/or to adopt a dog to any individual. Our dogs are not guaranteed for health or temperament.

Rottweilers placed through TRC are temperament tested, and appropriate homes are recommended. TRC dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, parasite free and on preventative. Our adoption fee is $250 unless otherwise stated. Adoption fee for puppies is $300.

Top Ten Reasons to Adopt a Dog from TRC

1. TRC has knowledgeable volunteer members that listen and match the right dog with the right family.

2. TRC Does not "rubber stamp" dogs. We take in an EVEN tempered good dog regardless of their age, size, or appearance because a GREAT dog is a GREAT dog. If we see a GREAT dog, we will help it.

3. TRC goes the "extra mile" for a dog - We complete extraordinary medical treatment or will hire a trainer or behaviorist so that the dog can find the right forever home.

4. TRC takes many dogs from special project situations (Michigan Mission, Jersey K9 Survivors), and provides regular updates on them.

5. TRC works collaboratively with other rescue groups and shelters to get the best dogs into their forever homes, and dangerous dogs out of society.

6. TRC does stringent temperament testing of all dogs before they are available for adoption.

7. TRC dogs live in foster families - not kennels.

8. COMPASSION - there is no one out there that cares more for the welfare of the dogs than we do.

9. Adoptor Support - You can call us later and ask all the questions you want. We'll answer them.

10. Experience - Our volunteer members have YEARs of experience with handling dogs and rescue, many having working titles on our own dogs.
