 Rocky's Story

July 26, 2003 - Rocky, now known as The Plymouth Rock, was adopted today by The Smith Family, in, you guessed it... Plymouth!

>>Rocky's Bio: Everyone wants the young ones. When I remind people that young dogs go through adolescence, they chew furniture, they are not housetrained, they need REAL structure (like a 14 year old kid would), some people think... it's a no brainer. Rocky is here to tell you that he - and your 16 year old who just grabbed your car keys - are very much alike. Rocky is a wonderful 18 month old boy. He's handsome, affectionate, house trained, obedience trained, crate trained, and people trained. :) He knows his commands, enjoys agility equipment, socializes very well with dogs of all ages and sizes, and rides well in the car. Why hasn't Rocky been snatched right up? Because without a forever family whose pack structure is second nature, Rocky is an adventurous adolescent, a fearless teenager, and a demon in disguise.  At close to 100 lbs, Rocky is not the person who should run the home. Rocky is interviewing perspective families, and is in Central NH waiting for your application. Kids over 10, Dog-Savvy cats possible.

July 20, 2004 Update- hello beth, all we can say is we lucked out. rocky is definitely a happy rotti. right now he is laying on my feet as we type this letter. he is adapting so well it is incredible. we put up the new chain link fence and he loves his new spot in the shade. he also sleeps later than the kids. he likes to be on the deck at night just hanging out and love to play basketball with the boys. he even has his own mini basketball!!!!!!!!!!!!! he has been to the beach already and really loved it. he also goes to the park every day for somthing different to do than hanging around the house. he is a pleasure to have around and the neighbors have all come by to meet the new teenager in the house. once again thank u all so much for allowing us to adopt him and give him lots of love.(believe me he doesn't know what to do with all the attention.) believe it or not he is pretty mellow now and very comfortable here. sincerely, kerri, bob, patrick and little bob.

September 5, 2003 Update - "Hello everyone who know this guy. We are pretty surprised he is not typing this himself. Rocky is going to be the next Tony Hawks of skate boarding! He has not only amazed his family with his boarding skills but that of the neighborhood boarding pros. He is also an avid swimmer of laps in the pool and has perfected his diving skills in the deep end!!! Rocky is everyone's dream companion. We are still trying to figures out how we have become so lucky. Rocky has many cousins that include a 6 year old black lab who he likes to hang out with a Boston terrier who is about 2 inches tall but has become his wrestling partner a pit bull who likes to see on occasion a jack russell who he races laps with and another Boston terrier who he chills with!!!! He must have really bad dreams because he has to sleep with his mom and dad every and I mean every night. People truly believe he has been with us from birth!!!!And he was the best wiffle ball player at our annual Labor Day tournament! He has to be woken up at around 10 every morning and be told to get out of bed and get out of the house and do something. All we can say is are thier any more like this guy around. P.S. If we win on America funniest video with definitley donate to the rottie fund! Keep up the good work up guys!"

October 25, 2003 Update - " hello all you Rocky fans. Things havn't changed around the Smith household. Rocky still has first dibs on my spot for the night. I have a funny feeling he may think he is a cat, though, it sounds funny but he acts just like a house cat would!!! He loves to hang around the house and be nosey. even tries to curl up on your lap just like a cat!!! He is well known at the local McDonalds and Burger King, they ususally do specail orders for him. at the bank and the dump they have snacks waiting for him. His new thing is if he gets bored while we are on the computer he will nudge our arms or the keyboard so the we will pay attention to him. One more important word of advice never, never wake a teenager who is comfy in the middle of the night!! Hope to see some of his old buddies one day keep up the good work. We will let you know when Rocky's first funniest video makes it big. He is the best"
