Vixen's Story
April 19, 2003 - The gorgeous Vixen was found stray in a busy NJ city. After spending a month in the shelter, she visited several foster homes, before resting finally in New Hampshire with Bill and Lisa. Vixen has seriously high drive, and was too difficult for the average adoptor to handle. Today, after training, Bill and Lisa have her completely under control. We are grateful for people like Bill & Lisa and their commitment to their completed family!
September 11, 2003 - It has been a little over 4 months since we adopted Vixen into our family. Boy, were those first few weeks hectic, but we all made it though. We have completed basic obedience training and the results on Vixen were so tremendous that we are considering continuing with intermediate training. She picked up all her new commands very quickly, except down, that command took some time, but she soon realized we could be more stubborn than she could be. We are also working on her high prey drive issue and are starting to see some progress, but we have a long way to go. She absolutely loves to play with Bruin, her 5-year-old Rottie brother. They love to chase each other around and are very comical to watch. He always wanted someone to chase him, but no one could keep up...until Vixen. Boy, has he met his match. Captain, her 10-year-old Rottie brother, has leg problems that prevent him from playing with her as much as he would like. Because we want him to be with us as long as possible, we interfere before they get to worked up and he gets hurt. Vixen can be wild and silly one minute then sweet and cuddly the next. We all love her so much and thank everyone at TRC for rescuing her and making it possible for us to find her.
