 Annie's Story

March 9, 2003 - Annie and her siblings were surrendered to an urban NJ shelter when they were about 8 weeks old. Mom too, because - well, mom went out and got herself pregnant after all. Annie survived the spay, beat parvo, and went on to be adopted today by Robin and family from New Hampshire.

Robin writes: "Annie is doing great. She weighs 24 pounds as of this morning! She loves XC, playing with tennis balls, chewing on bones, playing with Dee and anyone else who is game. The housebreaking is going well. "Accidents" are less frequent. A tired puppy is a good puppy. After her XC ski she takes a good long nap. Dee is happy to have somebody to play with and Rocky is happy to be left alone to relax.

Annie and I went to Agway the other day and the folks behind the desk were teasing me that she wasn't very social.......they were joking......she was wriggling and kissing everybody that came into the store and everybody had to pat her and fuss over her. She is SO CUTE!

Obedience classes start April 9th at 6pm. She already knew sit. We are working on come. She is very food motivated and likes Old Mother Hubbard cookies but she checks to make sure you really have them. She is better about jumping and is less mouthy. I can trust her off leash now around the horses and the cats.....I keep an eye on her but she listens well. She will fetch a tennis ball and bring it to you in exchange for a cookie. She is used to the routine now is a joy!"
