 Nikki's Story

August 12, 2003 - Bear was adopted today by Rich from Deleware

>>Bear's Story: At the top of Bear's wish list is an active family to include him in their trips to the park, hikes in the woods, and picnics at the lake. This affectionate, handsome 4 year-old male Rottie would welcome someone to play ball with. Well-behaved and eager to please, Bear walks well on lead, knows his basic obedience, and loves to go for car rides. His favorite treat is a pig ear. At end of day, he eagerly cuddles up in his crate when told that "it is time for bed". Fetch is Bear's favorite sport and a tennis ball is his favorite toy. This loving boy readily shares all his toys and treats, and is looking for a best friend to play with. Bear is social with all other dogs, large or small, but is so far untested with cats. He enjoys a good nub rub and dances with joy at your touch! Children are his favorite people, and under supervision he has much experience playing with young children of 2 to 4 years old. Because he is a big, enthusiastic boy, however, we feel that he would do best in a home with children 8 years-old or older. Spring is here, and with everyone striving to look their best, Bear awaits your aid to lose those last pesky ten pounds off his 125 pound frame. If you think you are that energetic family that Bear desires, please apply for him by name. He is currently fostered in Northern NJ.

> Well, what can I say about my little friend Nikki. She has really

become attached to me. I feel like I have a new appendage. I can't

express enough how I feel about her. She has got to be the sweetest

animal I have ever known. It never fails, every time we go for

walks, people stop us to ask questions about her. She will be going

to training classes soon because she tends to ignore commands. She

does look at me like I have ten heads and it makes me laugh. She

knows exactly what she is doing. She loves the yard. We have an

above-ground oval pool and she runs and runs and runs around this

pool. I actually have to stay on the deck because she will knock me

over. She loves to chase birds and cats. I feel she is starting to

realize this is "Home" for her. I dont' know what else I can say.

She is the best. I can't wait until there is a "get together" for

everyone so I can bring her.
