 Elvis' Story

December 27, 2003 - Elvis was adopted today by Diane & Bob from Massachusetts. I have known Diane & Bob for years - having provided wonderful homes to several rotts. Elvis will be living in with five other dogs and a host of rescued greyhounds when they're being fostered - and some livestock too. Elvis jumped in the back of the SUV, suitcase full of balls and bed in paw, and waved goodbye! Congratulations to Elvis, Bob & Diane!

>>Elvis' Story:

Elvis

For those of us who treat our pets like furry kids, "A dog's life" means early retirement, unending treats and toys and vacations at the lake or beach. Elvis, however, has lived a "dog's life" for most of his life, and it meant isolation in a small run without even a dog house to shelter him from the searing heat or frigid cold! He slept on a pile of rags under a board that leaned against a wall!!

At 8 weeks old, Elvis was a prized member of his family. Four months later, when the baby arrived, he was banished to the dog run! No attempt was made to socialize him with the child. He never had a chance to become part of this family and his child's best friend. While his "family" fed him a quality diet and regularly took him to the vet clinic and grooming salon, Elvis lived a daily life of total isolation.

Elvis is available for adoption around Labor Day. He has maintained an optimistic view of life and is a wonderful large 120 pound Rottie who would love a partner to play ball with!! Balls are this energetic boy's driving passion, and he would sleep with a ball in his mouth if possible!!! He readily shares his food, treats and toys, and just wants his plush coat petted. Elvis loves kids, but is too interested in "how kitties work" to live with a cat. However. he would be happy to share his new life with a female dog.

Elvis has been lovingly sponsored by Aimee Amodio. Want to help? Find out how to sponsor!
